Classes are offered the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the Month at 10:00 AM at MyBirth‘s studio space in Scott’s Addition–1726 Altamont Avenue, Richmond, VA  23230.

at Tomahawk Creek Crossfit in Midlothian–12113 Wilfong Drive, Midlothian, VA 23112.

Once or twice a month at this location we are able to offer sibling care for a nominal fee.  Sibling care is offered by a licensed educator and includes a storytime, related craft activity and yoga!  Watch our Facebook page for updates to see when we offer this option!

Feel free to join us at any time for class!  You may pay for class when you arrive.  We accept Credit Cards, Cash or Checks.  For your convenience we ask that you fill out CarryBean’s Registration & Waiver prior to attending.  Trust us, it’s easier than juggling a baby and a clipboard!

All classes are $16 a class or six classes for $85.

For classes held at Tomahawk Creek Crossfit (Wednesdays) you may pay for class when you attend.  We accept all major Credit Cards, Cash or Check.


Babywearing (BW) is defined as carrying or holding a baby or young child by means of wearing a baby carrier with little or no support from the caregiver’s arms.  There are many types of carriers including baby carriers, papooses, front packs, woven wraps, buckled carriers, pouches, soft structured carriers, mei tais, ring slings…the list could go on and on.  For a comprehensive list of carriers and their descriptions visit Babywearing Internation’s Glossary of Babywearing Terms.  At CarryBean we welcome students to wear any style of carrier that the student finds comfortable and is safe.

Our fitness classes include 45 minute scalable workouts that include a mix of cardio, strengthening, toning and stretching while wearing your child. We warm up for a few minutes then proceed onto intervals of cardio, strengthening and toning. Our focus is on keeping your heart rate up throughout class. The last several minutes are reserved for stretching and to stop and take a few breathes!

Our workouts are accessible at any fitness level which means that once you are cleared by your doctor to resume activity and you feel up to working out you may attend classes.

We recommend comfortable clothing; yoga pants or leggings and a comfortable shirt. Those wearing a structured carrier may prefer a shirt with short or long sleeves to cover their shoulders. Please be prepared to be barefoot for class. No shoes or socks will be allowed on the studio floor for safety purposes.

You may wish to bring a bottle of water. Please bring a safe, ergonomically-correct baby carrier.

Yes, please be prepared to provide your own carrier for class. For liability reasons at this time we are not able to provide carriers for use.

Moms are welcome to step out or step to the side to tend to their child if the need arises. Moms are also welcome to feed their children wherever they are comfortable—whether it’s in the lounge area at the studio or on the studio floor.

Our main priority is the happiness of you and your child and their safety! Tend to your child whenever needed and if your child ever fusses so much that you feel you’d like to leave class, we will happily credit you another class. “Perfect” babies are not expected!
